I’m quilting along on my Summer Sampler 2016 quilt! This week’s block is called X Spot and it’s my first block made with foundation paper piecing. It wasn’t as difficult as I thought it might be.
I made the four quadrants that each look like this:
The four quadrants get sewed together into an X like this:
My seam matching wasn’t the greatest, but I think it’s pretty good for a first try. 😀
Here are all four of my blocks so far:
I’m having a lot of fun with this sampler quilt. I’m learning new things too, which is always a bonus! 🙂
I love this block. It would make an awesome quilt on its own! Looking at the photo, I’m guessing each block is 6.5″, 4 make a 12.5″ unfinished block, and the strip 1.5?
Good estimates! That’s exactly right! Another thing I love about this sampler is they include a page in the PDF that shows how the block would look made into a quilt. This one looks great! 🙂
I love your enthusiasm Laurel – and all your projects! Sampler quilts are great skill builders. Please choose just the one project to link up this month, thank you!
I tried to delete the Summer Sampler quilt too. Not sure if it worked. 🙁
