My name is Laurel and I love to quilt! I’ve been sewing since I was a little kid, but I got into quilting seriously in 2014. I started this blog to keep track of my projects in progress and my finished quilts.<\/p>\n

When I’m not locked away with my sewing machine, I’m a homeschooling mom of two wonderful kids – Alison and Benjamin – and wife to my awesome husband, Kurt. I also love counted cross stitch, crochet, reading, and gardening.<\/p>\n

Snapshots is my current favorite quilt. It was a Block-of-the-Month from Fat Quarter Shop<\/a>. I hadn’t been into quilting for very long, so I wasn’t sure I could do it, but I decided I definitely couldn’t do it if I didn’t try. \ud83d\ude42 I bought the kit and went to work. It was quilted by Robin at Ormond Beach Quilts<\/a>. After I finished it, I decided to submit it to be considered for the 2016 Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival<\/a> and it was accepted! I ended up not winning a ribbon, but it was so exciting to see my quilt hanging up with all the other beautiful quilts at the show. \ud83d\ude42
\nUpdate for October 2016: My Snapshots Quilts was given an Award of Merit ribbon from the National Association of Certified Quilt Judges at the 2016 Virginia State Fair! I was so excited to receive this award! You can see my quilt on their website here<\/a>. <\/p>\n
